"Top Stores in Italy to Find Personal Care Products"
Ciao, benvenuti in Italia! You may be an expat settling into your new Italian lifestyle or a visitor exploring the beauty of Europe, but one thing's for sure – keeping up with your personal care routine is a non-negotiable. However, you quickly noticed that the large chains you were once accustomed to are not around and you are left wondering "where do I shop for my personal care products in Europe and more so, Italy?"
You do a quick Google search and visit the first option nearest to you as discovering the various places to shop in a foreign land can take some time. Lucky for you, I've had over a year to discover all the places you can shop for your hygiene and personal care items in Italy and by extension Europe.
Supermarkets
The first option you may come to notice on your own are the Supermarkets - the supermarkets have a basic but good enough selection of options for your needs so don't overlook the power of the humble supermarket. They carry a selection of known brands such as Neiva, Loreal or Garnier, with each supermarket also carrying their private label brands which are usually a good value. Some of the supermarkets include Coop, Carrefour, Esselunga and Conad.
Farmacia (Pharmacies)
The quintessential Italian institution, la farmacia. More than just a place for prescriptions, the farmacia is a treasure trove of quality skincare and wellness products that are backed by expert advice. This will not be your low-cost option, but here you will find dermatologically tested brand names such as La Roche Posay, Caudalie, and Vichy. As well as skincare brands such as Aveeno, Cerave and Lubriderm.
Tigota
This Italian-born store offers many options both for personal hygiene and beauty products, with some locations also in Switzerland. Tigota carries a range of personal care products at a reasonable price, they also have a small selection of cosmetics and fragrances.
Caddy's
If you're on the hunt for hidden treasures in the realm of personal care, look no further than Caddy's. While the brand's colours first caught my attention, I soon realized this was a great option for my personal care needs. Although there are not as many locations as some of the other options, if you happen to stumble upon it, you know what it has to offer.
DM
ah, DM, this just might be the holy grail of personal care shopping in Europe. This German chain recently opened in Italy and it has now become one of my main go to's with its vast array of products ranging from skincare to haircare and everything in between. Even its in-house brand 'Balea' offers great quality at an affordable price.
Acqua e Sapone
I only discovered this option this year as it took me some time before I went into this store because the name and logo made me associate it with a laundry mat... lol. Once I finally decided to enter, I was pleasantly surprised with it's array of options and the offers that were available. This store is one of the larger chains with various locations throughout Italy and I like the discounts that they have.
Online Options

Notino - Free shipping over $50
MakeUp.it - Free shipping over $19
Let's not forget about the wonders of online shopping! The truth is, I'm an online girlie and before discovering the majority of these physical stores, I did my shopping online. These online platforms offer a convenient way to shop for your favorite products with the widest selection of brands from the comfort of your home. I have shopped from all three sites mentioned and shopping was easy with hassle-free delivery, the only disadvantage being you don't receive your products instantaneously as if you went into a store and purchased them.
There you have it – your essential guide to shopping for personal care products in Italy! Whether you're perusing bustling city streets or quaint village lanes, these destinations are sure to satisfy all your beauty cravings. So go ahead, indulge in a little self-care pampering and let your inner beauty shine bright in the heart of Europe. Happy shopping!
